My first defensive game, so I'll need as much help as I can get please! :)
I have been tasked with the defence of the farmhouse located at the centre of the image below.
I decided to select three companies, each with a single rifle platoon in each. The first company would also have a weapons platoon to provide some indirect support as well as some HMGs to provide some more muscle if/when BigDork gets too close for comfort!
I went mostly for infantry, with the sole exception of M5A1 light tank to help repulse any mechanised elements of BigDorks. If he has anything stonger I'll have to rely on getting up close and personal and using a bazooka to take it out, as the M5A1 only has a 37mm gun!

A Company (Light Blue) comprises of 1st Platoon and 4th Weapons Platoon. 1st Platoon is tasked with guarding my left flank and is split into three squads to watch over the far left, the field to their front and the field to their right. 4th Weapons Platoon is currently tasked with overwatch of the main road, as well as HMG support for 1st Platoon. My mortars are also primed and ready to help support my whole defence of the nearby farmhouse complex.
B Company (Yellow) is set to watch my extreme right flank and is split into three squads spread out along the hedgerow.
C Company (Red) is set to watch the centre and is also split into three squads behind the safety of another hedgerow.
My M5A1 light tank is postioned behind my HMG on the central road and will hopefully cause some grief to any of BigDork's forces unwise enough to cross the main road. It is also positioned to provide quick and easy access to my left flank, as this looks like the most likely avenue of attack for any motorised units.
Battalion HQ is positioned safely at the rear of the map in another farmhouse.
It's now turn 4 and I have just started to pick up some initital contacts. On the right flank I have spotted a three men of a rifle squad running from left to right across the gap in the hedgerow, and I have twice spotted a Panzergrenadier Platoon HQ in front of C Company.
I have my men on tight gun discipline, hoping to draw BigDork's men in close before letting rip!
