Last Defence - BigDork vs Penry - Allied AAR

Greetings once again!

And so we come the the third and final AAR in our series of Axis attack/Allies defend CMBN AARs. This time we have gone for something a little different, we have chosen to play a scenario rather than a quick battle. So without further ado I will reveal the Allies briefing:





Nice to have a bit of a backstory and some limited intel. It should also be interesting to work with some reinforcements, if they come, which might add a twist to proceedings.
My first ponderings are just what does BDs briefing say? How much does he know about my situation and firepower? If he does have a few tanks and half tracks will he try to rush me and overwhelm me before I get my tank destroyers? One big advantage BD has is that he has played this scenario before, from both sides, in the original CMBO, all those years ago. How much does he remember? Has his memories been distorted by time?

So, what do I have to work with?



Yellow platoon (4th Platoon)

A regular MMG gun team and ammo team on my left flank.
A green MMG team and ammo team to the right of my village.
A regular HQ support team in a jeep to the rear of the left of my village. One of the occupants has a bazooka and 12 rounds of ammo.
A green 4th Platoon HQ at the rear of the map, by my mortar teams.
Three mortar teams(2 regular and 1 veteran) each with 96 rounds of 60mm HE ammo.

Red platoon (1st Platoon)

A regular platoon HQ and a regular 2nd squad in the village. One member of 2nd squad has a bazooka qith 4 rounds of ammo.
A regular 3rd squad to the front left of the village.
A regular 1st squad at the very front of my forces.

Purple platoon (2nd Platoon)

A regular platoon HQ and regular 3rd squad in the farmhouse on the diagonal road. One member of 3rd squad has a bazooka and 4 rounds of ammo.
A regular 1st squad on the far right flank.
A regular 2nd squad back in the right hand side of the village. One member of 2nd squad has a bazooka and 4 rounds of ammo.

C Company HQ (Dark blue)

Regular HQ and regular XO team.

1st Batallion HQ (Light blue)

Veteran HQ, regular operations team and green jeep driver.

White section (2nd section - D Company)

Green HMG and ammo team stationed in the centre of the village.

NOTE: These are the default positions that the scenario starts off with. By the looks of things there are three setup zone. One at the rear for the mortars and their HQ. One to the left of the main road and one to the right. I believe that those already in the left zone must stay in the left zone and those in the right must stay in the right. Any ideas about better positions?
