Anyone ever play it before? It's kid-based so if you're aware of it you probably have kids. I picked it up for my son and I to play and it's pretty fun.

The premise is that you have toys of various characters and when you place them on the portal peripheral they appear in the game. From there they can gain experience to gain levels and collect gold to upgrade your abilities, all while going through the storyline. The game stores all of your upgrade information onto the toy itself instead of in-game so you can take your character to someone else's game (even across platforms) and battle them in the battle arena. Each character has different strengths and abilities (some ranged, some up-close, some silly, etc.)

It's not really a difficult game as such (it is very kid friendly) but it is a blast and we're enjoying it. It kind of reminds me of a cross between an RPG (leveling up) and the first Jak and Daxter game (art style and general humor). Plus it has Patrick Warburton (the Tick) as the voice of a self-absorbed secondary character and he's always good for a laugh. :)

Probably the worst part of the game is the cost. You can buy the game, peripheral and a starter pack of 3-characters for $50 or so, but after that each character costs around $10 (though my wife remembers seeing them for a third of that cost during sales at Christmas). You don't need any more characters to play the game if you don't want, but you will miss game content if you don't have at least one of each type of element (there are 8 elements). We decided to pick up two 3-character expansion packs to fill out the elements, but that's probably it for us unless we find some on sale.

There is also a sequel that is already out, and another on the way too, so should be fun. :)
