This is a somewhat unusual form of game in that it strips a lot of games down to their bare basics and they come in 2 forms, Clicker (in which you click on 1 or more objects to increase how many of some resource you have) and Idle (in which you usually sit back and do nothing mostly making only the occasional decision to upgrade/improve/buy something)
However hidden amongst these time-wasters and generally fairly boring games are some curious little gems
From the above I recommend you try CivClicker (basically Civ without ANY flashy graphics, hint: you needs LOTs of farmers!!), Candy Box 1 and 2 (some patience required as they only show how good they are after a bit of waiting), A Dark Room (starts off as just that but gradually grows into more interesting game than the beginning might suggest.) As with many games it's all a matter of opinion, for most they are likely to be dull, but for some they may be addictive and perhaps even inspiration for your own games :)
There also Lyrania http://lyrania.co.uk/?r=8086 which is an MMO incremental, the referral link gives me a small percentage of your globals (random drops and milestones), it's a difficult game to describe so try it, if you like it great, if you don't, no harm done :). small warning though, Main chat is unmoderated, so expect to see unusual conversations and bad language, if you don't like it, you can block the channel.
I'm on Lyrania as "argroww" unfortunately due to the game being blocked at work I cannot access it there, but if you do start playing and want some help,PM me here or leave your message on this thread, alternatively there is a NewPlayers channel and the majority of players seem happy enough to answer Newbie questions.
