I've recently got myself a tablet....it's not a very powerful one but I've found that looking for decent games is fairly tricky, whilst Google Play does have a large library it's not always easy to find the better games on there (only the more popular or newer ones).
I've nabbed a few that seem okay, but I'm mostly looking for low system demand, free and playable offline games, can my fellow WPCers help?
(btw I've tried Freeciv android version, it doesn't work on my tablet :( )
Here's what i have so far that DOES work:
Time of Exploration - a very low-gfx game in which the challenge is to build at least 1 of every building in as little time as possible starting with a HQ, Woodcutter and Stonecutter. The HQ gives you a very small amount of resource storage space, population storage and population growth. As you build 1 of each building it unlocks 1 new building which at the very least requires wood and stone. Some buildings store resources, some generate new resources, often requiring some previous resource and nearly always requiring population. This can be played offline and as far as I can tell the only online component is the scoreboard, it's also intended to be played over several days/weeks as it strikes me as impossible to finish in a day.
CastleMiner - a TD game using Unity seems to work very well on my tablet, looks okay for a TD game, what makes it relatively unique is that you create the path that the mobs travel along, you also get passive upgrades to buy as you gain XP.
Motor World Car Factory - I have to say....I love this game and I THINK it can be played offline. it has a Pokemon style "gotta build-em all". The idea of the game is that you build different cars and then sell them, as you level up you unlock new cars to build, and as you build them you also upgrade them through 3 tiers (which improves their performance and sale amount), given the basic premise of the game it is surprisingly deep, there is a lot to do in it including quests, researching tech upgrades, breeding (yes breeding) new cars, races and lots of other stuff, it also looks pretty good and is fairly fun. you are limited by the need to use donuts to improve and feed your workers, but these regenerate fairly quickly. The online component requires you to have friends (via facebook or Mobage or other social media tool) and you can save up to a cloud server. you also get special missions which give access to unique cars that cannot be obtained by other means. If you are or plan to play this, look for me as Argroww...I also post to my facebook account :D
Other games I've found either don't work well...or at all. But if there's anything unique or interesting I'm willing to give it a go as long as it's not too big or GFX heavy (as it probably wont work).
Oh and I've foudn that the Android OS isn't great at making use of additional storage space, so any tips on that would be appreciated!
