Three games have caught my attention :drool:
Combat Mission (Probably Normandy over Italy):
Big Dork and Tiresias have now posted two very exciting games. :bounce: Although it looks like the Italian version has more challenging terrain and therefore would make for a better game, I'm drawn more to Normandy because of that theater's iconic place in American history.

You're the newly-elected President of a country...with a tsunami of problems. You need to spend your political capital in order to institute the changes in policy necessary to solve the problems and get yourself re-elected. One thing holding me back is a review I read which said that Democracy 2 is highly addictive for about 3 weeks and then becomes very repetitive.

Not really a sports game; it's more a strategy game. You're not the manager but the general manager, making trades, signing players, etc. One reviewer stated, "If you like contract law, this is the game for you!"
It's very flexible, so if you want, you can also be the manager. You can even tweek the game down to the pitch-by-pitch. [Caveat: the graphics are sucky.] On the other hand, you can build your own league and staff the various teams. On the third hand, you can go back to anytime in history, e.g. you can manage the 1927 New York Yankees if you wish. People LOVE this game!
